It’s been a busy November, so I’m giving a few updates about my writing. Stuff I’ve done rather than write blog entries here:
- Finishing an entry on “science and technology” for a Mark Twain-themed encyclopedia called All Things Twain.
- Participating in Mark Millar’s contest for new comic talent by writing a 5-page script starring Duke McQueen, the hero of Millar’s space opera Starlight.
- Hosting writer Sarah Vowell at the UC Davis campus. She gave an onstage interview about writing and history, and gave great advice to our journalism undergrads about breaking into the field.
- Finalizing edits on three different short stories.
None of these qualifies as a major, long-term project (except the Vowell event, which was planned over months, but over the first week of November). All put together, however, it’s been pretty wild juggling.
